Movies meets Movies HD

It's been a while, but we're working on a major update of Movies and Movies HD. The user interface of Movies is completely reworked, and both Movies and Movies HD will become universal (which means they will run on both iPhone/iPodTouch and iPad)!

We've been working really hard on adding new features to both Movies and Movies HD, and one of the most requested features was live syncing between Movies and it's iPad-brother Movies HD. With the universal app, we've finally added this! We've also added dozens of smaller enhancements and improvements to make your movie catalog even more pleasant to use.

We expect the update to go live by the end of December, as a Christmas present to all you out there!

Movies HD offers list view

It's been a while since we updated Movies HD (a little over 2 months - not that bad compared to desktop apps), but we're proud to announce the long awaited list view mode (which complements the existing shelf view).

At the same time, we've been tackling some annoying crash bugs (yes, web cover search, we're looking at you!), added copy-paste functionality, reworked the settings page and also high on your wishlist: allow to edit the genre list.

Movies HD 1.6 was sent to Apple on September 2nd, and we expect it to go live in a week from now.

Movies HD meets CoverFlow

Less than 1 month ago we released our previous version of Movies HD, and today we're proud to announce Movies HD 1.4 which features the long-awaited CoverFlow view.

While we still have a big featurelist waiting to be designed & implemented, we didn't want to withhold this gorgeous Coverflow mode in Movies HD, so we decided to release Movies HD 1.4 today.

In the meantime we're working hard on an update of XBMC Remote, in order to resolve all connectivity issues.

Movies HD supports filtering!

Movies HD is live on the App Store for less then a week, and we already have our second update available! As requested by lots of you, Movies HD now supports filtering movies based on media type (DVD, Blu-Ray, ..), lend-to, genre, director and actor!

That's right. In 7 days time, we issued 2 major released onto the App Store (okay - must say "Thank you, Apple" for approving them within 48 hours each). That's pretty amazing, not? Our latest release, Movies HD v1.2 features advanced movie filtering - a request we got from many of you. And in the meantime we're making good progress on live-syncing between Movies and Movies HD - which should be available on the iPhone and iPad soon.

Movies HD

Overview

Movies HD is a movie catalog application with stunning graphics. It allows you to quickly add, find and view movies in your library (with the ability to add new movies by seeking by title or barcode, so all movie details are filled in for you!). It also allows to lend movies to friends, so you can easily keep track of who you gave that copy of "Quantum of Solace" to.

Just like our iPhone app Movies, Movies HD is a movie catalog application which allows to quickly catalog your complete movie collection. It allows to import from various popular desktop apps (like Delicious Library, Collectorz Movie Collector, Ant Movie Collection, Movie Label 2011, ...) or allows to create your library on-the-fly (using various data sources which allow to enter movies by barcode number or movie title).
