The backup/restore procedure of Movies is web based.
Important note
- Make sure you are connected to the same WiFi access point as your home computer!
- make sure to use the exact URL as shown in Movies
Backup procedure
Startup Movies, go to the [Settings] tab and tap [Backup]. Movies will process all your movies and generate a ZIP file - export.zip.

Once that process is done (the progressbar is 100%), you can start your favorite web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, FireFox, ..) and connect to the iPhone using the parameters in the backup window (http://yourip:8080). Please note the port is 8080!
In the web browser, 1 file should be visible - export.zip. Transfer that file to your local computer, and then tap [Done] in Movies. You now have your copy of your movie database.
Restore/import procedure
Startup Movies, go to the [Settings] tab and tap [Restore]. The internal web server of Movies will startup.

Now start your favorite web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, FireFox, ..) and connect to the iPhone using the parameters in the backup window (http://yourip:8080). Please note the port is 8080! Upload a previously made backup (or an export from a 3rd party app) by clicking on [Browse] in your web browser and selecting the export.zip file on your computer. Now click upload. Once the transfer is done, tap [Done] on your iPhone. Movies will extract the ZIP file and try to import all movies listed.
Once the process is done, the Settings page will show up.
